Guinness Part II

Now that I have had Guinness on tap instead of a bottle, I must say it is a much better experience. It is much smoother and creamier and I am officially hooked! As a side note it taste nothing like the Porter I mentioned either.

My first Guinness

Well I'm embarrassed to say this, but I finally had my first Guinness last night and I really enjoyed it. I was surprised at how soft the flavors were. Very nice creamy roasted flavor. Michelob Porter is very similar with an added bitterness of roasted coffee. I'm curious if anyone has tried the Porter from Michelob.

Chillout

I've been listening to the chillout channel on Digitally Imported for about a year now and I have to say that it has been a huge help while I've been programming at my current job. I know that a lot of companies frown upon employees listening to internet radio, but speaking for myself I have to say it helps me focus, drown out background noise (my group is located in the middle of a customer service call center if you can imagine) and be more productive. I would be curious if there has been any studies comparing bandwidth cost to improved productivity. Anyway, one of the artist that contributes to the chillout channel constantly with new mixes and original songs is an artist named Xerxes. He has never ceased to amaze me with all of the different textures and moods in his songs. His first album "The Mirror Formula" just came out on March 30. If you get a chance check him out!

Playing Oblivion: Part I

I have started playing 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion' this weekend and have a couple of comments to make so far. The first thing I would like to point out to anyone who doesn't know this yet is to create a new game save before you walk up to the gate that exits the sewers in the beginning. The reason being that once you walk up to the gate you are given the choice to change your race, birthsign and skills one last time before you venture out into the world. Once you go through the gate you can not change these things again. The bonus is that if you want to create a new character you can use that game save as the start point and then create a new save so that you don't have to go through the opening sequence everytime you want to start a new game. The second thing is that I've gone through the 'Sideways Cave' and did not discover anything of great interest there. Am I missing something or is this area just a warm-up excerise?
